Laura Eva (1989) is a Master visual artist, dancer, and autonomous designer from Belgium. She also works as a performance artist and choreographer.
Laura Eva is constantly researching new ways of connecting through making (together). She tries to give voice to a vitality inherent in materiality. Making or better weaving in co-creation with local organics like hemp, nettle (urtica) and willow which she cultivates in her garden is central here.
She frequently invites neighbours and makers to help her complete her creations. Her recent project On Routes and Roots is a networked attempt to temporarily create space with exercises in making, learning and spinning stories together.
Her work translates into:
(1) environments and objects that enable dialogue/conversation
(2) processes of collaboration
(3) a visual universe in which the objects and artefacts speak the language of the culture she is co-creating.
She places her work in the force field of co-creation, care, craft, art and study.
